We went to see BNL last night and they were awesome as always. They always put on such a great show. They keep on mixing up their new stuff with their old stuff to keep it fresh. Surprisingly, some of the pictures that I took actually turned out.
This is the first concert that I have ever bought a t-shirt. I also bought that night's concert on a thumb drive, but they had to give out refunds because of a "system crash" and they were not able to load the drives at the end of the concert. Hopefully they'll have the concert available on their website soon. If there is one band that I don't mind supporting with money, it's the ladies.
It's nice to see that the barenaked ladies are being progressive with technology. I seem to remember them coming out with an album on thumbdrive a year or two ago. I thought with the idea of recordings concert and selling it to the people who went. Although I'm sure lots of other people thought of this too. Although my idea was to sell the concert on CDRs, this was before thumb drives were popular. I think a lot of people would be willing to buy a copy of the concert they went to, as long as the price wasn't too high. Nice to see somebody is finally implementing an idea I thought of 5 years ago.
ReplyDeleteYou can also buy their latest album in MP3 format from Puretracks. Yes, puretracks is now offering albums in MP3 Format. The selection is pretty small right now, but I hope they will expand it in the future. Finally music that's free from DRM. Now if only they could sell it in a lossless format (FLAC).

I mentioned 2 years ago that BNL had the concerts available after the show... and I think that others were doing it a while before that...

I thought of this around 6 years ago, but I've never heard of a band doing this before. Guess I don't follow your blog closely enough. Anyway, I guess the bands I go to don't draw a big enough crowd to make it worthwhile. I generally only go to small concerts, so I don't really know if the cost of implementing this world be worth the number of sales they would get.
