Smokin'!

Word from the wise, when steaming veggies, ensure that the pot still has water in it if boiling for a long time. Otherwise you have smoked veggies... not so good. :-(

  1. You shouldn't be boiling your veggies that long anyway, they lose all the nutrients. You should steam them, they taste much better, and retain more nutrients. Unless of course it's potatoes, which never had any nutrients to begin with.

  2. My bad. Yes, I was steaming them... just too long. :-(

  3. Actually potatoes are a very good source of vitamin C and B6. They also contain a variety of phytonutrients that have antioxidant properties as well as blood pressure-lowering compounds. (Just stay away from the deep-fried variety!)

  4. That's just wrong....I don't eat anything that casts a shadow.

  5. JamesDubya,
That's ok, you can eat potatoes then. They don't cast a shadow because they are underground where the sun can't get them. Apparently they are good for you, and contain vitamin C, and B6. I've always been told potatoes aren't a good source of nutrients, and are just good for carbs.
