We're moving, which is really cool. Now the PITA stuff: changing our address for all the places that have that info. It would be awesome if their was a giant cental user repo that all business could tie into, but I'm sure the privacy people would crap themselves. Yes, I know the ontario gov't has a place where you change change all your info with them... that makes it a little easier.
The hard part is when I tell people the new address (and no, I'm not going to mention it on this blog). For each person it seems to take at least one clarification. The systems where I can just enter and fill in my info are the best. Ah well. I'm happy to move, even if it's a bit of a weird street name. :-P
Remember to tell Canada Post that you are changing your address. That way, if you forget to change your address with someone, you'll still end up getting the mail.
ReplyDeleteAlso, when you change your address, all that junk mail you used to get sent to you via mailing lists will stop coming. That is, until you get signed up to 100 new mailing lists. It probably won't take long.
We're picking up mail at both places now... holy flyer's batman! Wow. That's one thing that I'm not used to... you don't get many of those "door to door" flyer's in an apartment.
ReplyDeleteIt appears that they don't need your name to send you crap. :-/
You can put up one of those "please, no flyers" signs. Pretend you're trying to be environmental or something. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was in your house's neighbourhood today so I took a drive by --- nice! Let me know if you need another pair of hands to move.
Thanks for the offer man. ;-) At this point we *should* be okay. At this rate I expect that on move day it'll just be all the "big stuff", which in our case is just empty book cases. :-)
