Somehow this past weekend while going up to the cottage and closing up the boats, dock, etc. I
slightly twisted my ankle. Now it's not bad enough to cause me to go out and get crutches, but it's annoying in that I walk with a bit of a limp. *sigh* I couldn't go for a run this morning. I think that I'll just have to be careful. Ah well. Damn.

If you have physiotherapy covered by your benefits, maybe try a physiotherapist. It may seem a little silly for a minor sprain, but they did wonders on my ankle when I sprained it (badly).
ReplyDeleteIf you have a weak ankle because of a sprain you're more likely to sprain it again, maybe more seriously the next time. A physiotherapist will repair and strengthen it so that a future sprain is less likely.
hahaha... benefits? What are those?
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me, I should get some blue cross coverage... *sigh* Sometimes it's a pain being a contractor.
LOL!
ReplyDeleteI had a simple sprain three weeks ago. It was terribly painful and so very swollen that I just couldn't walk. I had to go to the hospital and they took a dozen x-rays and thought that there was a probable fracture but were not sure even after the x-rays. I got some painkillers but they don't do much. Taking Ibuprophen 600mg seems to help reduce the swelling but then, ice and heat also have helped reduce the discomfort. But if this should persist, go see a doctor. You don't want to end up early in a wheel-chair in middle age. One needs to make sure that these things get looked at if they don't seem to get better easily and quickly.
