Do I look stressed?

While at work, I keep on getting told that I look really stressed. I think that other people (non-work) think so too. Do I seem that way? I feel busy, but I don't think that I am super stressed... maybe I am just used to school where for like 4.5 years I was stressed most of the time, and I just don't know how to let go. Maybe it is the coffee I drink. Maybe I am stressed, I don't know. But I had better learn to deal with it soon or I'll cause myself trouble. I guess that's what this blog is for, to de-stress, to relax and get the things out of my head.

I'm reading Emotional Intelligence and I'm right at the part discussion how people get mad, what keeps them mad, and how some people deal with it. It's actually quite interesting, but I think that it is very oprah book club-ish. Ah well. Older books are usually good (somewhat) because they have been good enough to stay around for a while.

  1. I think it's all in their heads. After 6 years of school I was used to seeing stressed people. Compared to most students you were as calm as a Hindu cow.
Welcome to the government! No one is stressed because no one has a reason to be. You can't even make up a fake reason to be stressed there. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the siesta.

  2. If I had a dime for every time I was told that I was "calm as a Hindu cow", I'd have, well, a dime... ;-) Are Hindu cows calm? Is that 'cause they are not going to be eaten?
I don't think that I work in a "no stress" env. There is plenty of stress to go around, I just have to ignore it. It's not something that I want. It's a JOB, not my life, so it's not worth getting upset about. It's just a way to pay for my car and (when I get it) kayak. ;-)

  3. When you were in school, i think that sometimes you looked a bit stressed. Not to say that you were stressed, but you just had this look to you. As long are you aren't feeling stressed, don't worry about it.

  4. The line "calm as hindu cows" comes from Fight Club, in the scene where Ed Norton meets Brad Pitt. (so should I give you the ass or the groin?) Pretty funny scene.
I'd say you're like Kramer. Always looks strung out but really isn't, and is actually having fun.
