Ready to run

It looks like it will be another hot one today. And today we are going to a longer run again. Probably around 8 or 9 km. We don't want to exceed what we did last week by more than 20 minutes, so it'll probably be just under an hour. I am a little anxious, but I get that way about a lot of things. *sigh*

One thing that Scott pointed out was how U of O is now going to ban and enforce smoking around enterences. I am glad that they are doing this, but I wonder just how much is about people's health, and how much is it about it looking like the school cares about people's health while they find a new way to generate revenue. Kibbee pointed out that with the density of U of O's campus, this is almost effectivly banning smoking everywhere. I don't really see that as a bad thing, but whatever. Everyone has their vices. I have mine. ;-)

Ah well, I'd better get back to work.

  1. I've always hated that ... what's the point of not allowing smoking in buildings if you have to walk through a cloud of it on the way out anyway? There are enough open spaces at U of O to smoke and nine metres isn't that far.
    I have a better idea though -- quit. :)

  2. I was thinking that it was 30 meters. Too bad. Ah well, this will still help a little bit when they start enforcing it around SITE, which probably won't be till after we leave. *sigh*
