Shirt and Tie

I wore a shirt and tie, dress pants and nice shoes into work today. My reason? To mess with people's heads for fun. ;-) All morning has been "where's the interview?" When I tell people that there is no interview and I just did it randomly just for fun, no one believes me. They go "sure you are... *wink*"

Ya, I find it funny. Yes, today is a good day: the elevator was empty going into work today... god, I love messing with people's heads sometimes. And no, I am not going to explain that last comment. :-D

  1. Haha, i do that all the time. I'm the young skateboarder punk in the division, and just for shits, i like to dress in dress pants, a dress shirt, a tie, a v-neck prep sweater, and a blazer on about 1 day per week. I like to do it on "dress-down Fridays" often too, just to screw with them further. I'll show up to meetings with people 3 levels higher than me, and i'm the best dressed. Haha, it's a good time.
People who don't really know me often say, "hey, all dressed up, you look nice today". People who do really know me often grin and shake their heads, or call me an idiot.
    Good times.

  2. Some people get so used to a 'System' that when you subvert it -- even a little bit -- it's fun on so many levels.

  3. It might backfire though... if people think that you keep on going on interviews and don't leave, then they might think that you are 1) not loyal or 2) suck at interviews and no one wants you...
It would probably be better not to subvert people's view of your value. :-/

  4. Loyalty and $1.40 will get you a large double double at Tim Horton's. No one gives a shit about loyalty in the tech industry.
