Does anyone else think that when I go to www.asciitable.com they have an ASCII table, but as an image? I think that is really funny. Maybe I am just to much a nerd, or that really is ironic.
If anyone wants to make comments, right now you have to enter in a email address... don't bother. Just put in some crap that looks like an email address. I will fix that shortly. I'm too out of it to figure out where to turn it off right now.

Done -- comments can be anonymous now. I hate that too.
ReplyDeleteThey probably made the ASCII table an image so they could put the vertical lines in. Otherwise they would have to put the ASCII text in a table and it would render slowly and look like ASS. That's my guess. :)
Kind of a pain if you're using a non-graphical browser though. The image doesn't even have an ALT attribute! :|
And if you try and right click on the image (to save it) they have a message saying that it is copy righted... so bad.
ReplyDeletehee hee... "look like ASS"
hmm. I guess they haven't heard of just yet? :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, It's an image so you can't copy it, and there's a nice watermark on the image. of course you could just printscreent it, and then probably do some OCR. Can you actually copyright the ascii table? isn't that public knowledge or something? This just seems wrong that they claim they own copyright to it.
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean you can't copy it?
ReplyDeleteRight click on the edge and drag the mouse so you avoid the popup... (then just Save-As). Works fine for me. :)

How about using this chart?
