I was reading an interesting Cringely article today and found something amusing: you can buy jewlery that you see characters where in your favourite tv show wear (like Buffy). I just think that it's funny that people have made a business of this, but I guess that people want this sort of thing.
Other things that got my attention are how paranoid the US has gotten. Even scarier is the second article. It's sort of scary that they allow their citizens to carry guns around, but they are sending out warnings about people carrying books around. It's truely a mad world.

I'm amazed sometimes at how wide the difference in opinions is between Canada and the U.S. as far as bearing(sp?) arms goes.
ReplyDeleteObviously the states is alot more political about their rights to bear arms (the NRA is a hell of alot bigger/meaner than our arms association (now sure what its called, but maybe that says something in itself..)). I remember seeing something on the news about a small town that had a bylaw stating that each household MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE GUN in it for protection (the town was like 200 people big and the nearest police force was 15 minutes away).
That just kinda freaked me out.. :)
